Authentic Food

We love food and we love cooking for our guests!

We are influenced by the amazing ingredients and rich food culture found all around the Mediterranean, and especially in this corner of Spain. We are full-board and serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, early evening tapas and dinner. There’s also an option for high tea for younger guests.

Menus are developed each week depending on our guests and the activities they are doing. While we serve a set menu, there is usually some scope for flexibility, and of course, we take special diets into account. We encourage all our smaller guests to try our local dishes but recognise that sometimes the comforts of home can make a holiday much more relaxed for everyone. We are happy to discuss options before and on arrival.

Breakfast is served buffet-style. There is always fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals. We bake our own sourdough bread and might have banana waffles or cinnamon buns, along with eggs cooked to order.

Lunch would usually be something like the local speciality of spinach and goat cheese ‘Coca’ (similar to a pizza) cooked in the wood oven. Or falafel with pink pickled onions and fiery harissa. Or maybe you could take a picnic of tortilla (Spanish omelette), local cured sausage and juicy oranges.

No-one does afternoon tea like the British, so here we unashamedly revert to our baking roots, but with a Spanish twist. Favourites are a tart lemon drizzle cake with Andalucian lemons or an Asturian dairy-free olive oil sponge that uses our homemade English marmalade.

In the evenings, relax on the veranda with a cold San Miguel and a tapa of salt cod bunyols (fritters) or chilled melon soup with serrano ham, before sitting down together for dinner. Dinner could be the Catalan ‘Arros Negre’ (black rice) made with the freshest fish, preserved lemons and squid ink. Or a shoulder of local lamb, slow roasted in the wood oven. If you have any space left for dessert, satisfy your sweet tooth with lemon and rosemary Crema Catalana. Or completely blow the diet with the classic Spanish treat, Churros con Chocolate.
